It was a Sunday afternoon stroll for Seung Hyun Lee, as she blitzed the field by nine shots at the final KLPGA Major of the season- the Hite Jinro Championship.
Lee’s victory never looked in doubt, even though she started her final round with a bogey, but so did her playing partners. She picked up six birdies on her way to a 67 – the low round of the day. Lee’s putting was near flawless over the weekend. She was very much the deserved champion and had no problem arching the neck for the customary victory drink!
A T-2nd place finish for Jeong Eun Lee finally confirmed her position as the 2017 KLPGA Player of the Year. Four wins and three runner up spots is a very impressive haul, with one more chance to add to this next week.
Hye Jin Choi posted a final round 68 to join Lee in a tie for second, which also included Min Sun Kim.
Ha Neul Kim finished T-8th, and will return to the JLPGA Tour to continue her fight with Min Young Lee and Ai Suzuki for top spot.
Sung Hyun Park produced four level par rounds to finish T-19th. Anything but a win these days for Park is seen as a bit of a disappointment. The LPGA Rookie of the Year will now travel to China for the LPGA Blue Bay tournament, while the KLPGA Tour season ends at next week’s ADT CAPS Championship.
