KPGA: Tour Championship Set For Epic Finale

The finale to the KPGA Tour season is all set for a dramatic finish, with the race for the 2018 European Tour card going right down to the wire. Although the total purse was recently halved, this does not affect the points system used to determine the season’s top player.

Seven of the eight Caido Series tournaments played so far have been won by seven different players. Two of them, Junghwan Lee and Hyungjoon Lee are still very much in contention for the solitary ticket to the European Tour next year.

The above table is the points breakdown that has been used for each KPGA tournament this season. I trust that your Math is good enough to figure out the numerous possibilities and outcomes that Sunday evening can offer…

A victory for Jinho Choi or Junghwan Lee would guarantee them top spot. That’s the plain and simple explanation…after that, there are too many permutations to discuss. Well unless the trio miss the cut and fourth placed Jinjae Byun wins…that would be the most unlikely of outcomes, but then again, golf…

To add even more spice, Hyungjoon Lee is the defending champion, although the location has changed to Solmoro C.C. Whatever happens, it’s likely to be an exciting end to an eventful year on the KPGA Tour.
