She’s back…which means the crowd numbers at this week’s Seri Pak Invitational will probably be the biggest all year. Actually there’s no doubt about it, the crowds will be huge…but the current KLPGA players will not be giving Sung Hyun Park any special treatment- they will be focusing solely on producing a solid performance at the $700,000 (approx) tournament.
It seems inevitable that Park will rise the world number one spot in the not so distant future, and it could be quite a long time that she spends at the summit. There’s no need to justify this statement, it is going to happen.
Back to this week’s tournament and the main contenders that will be expected to put up a strong challenge against Park- starting with the latest winner Jin Young Ko, her second of the season.
Ko has quickly found her form in the second half of the season and could have easily won once or twice more, but for a few putts missed from inside 10 feet. Come the end of the season, she is likely to be right at the top, if she can keep up her recent performances going.
Of course, Jeong Eun Lee must be mentioned on a weekly basis, as the triple season winner is currently leading the money list, but being chased down by Ko & Co…
One thing is for sure, the crowds will reach record numbers at Lakewood Country Club this week in anticipation of Namdalla’s return.
