There hasn’t been too much joy for the Korean contingent over the years at the ANA Open. Looking at past results, Hyung Sung Kim has put in some strong performances, but his game has been nowhere near his best in recent months.
Kim finished T-6th here last year and T-3rd in 2014, so he clearly likes the tournament and more importantly the course. In saying that he withdrew from last week’s KPGA Tour Mega Open, so who knows if he can put together a strong performance this week?? Nobody until Sunday…
In form Hyun Woo Ryu, who finished runner up at last week’s ISPS Handa Matchplay and won the Fujisankei Classic the week before, should be considered as one of the favourites. Golf is based a lot on confidence, Ryu has it in abundance at the moment.
Byung Min Cho, who finished 4th last week may also figure on Sunday afternoon. Again…confidence boost…lets see if this theory is evident!
First up, I suppose I better say hello and thank you for visiting my website, whoever you are. I teach, I write, I caddy, I write, I travel, I write. Mostly, about golf if that interests you. Usually interviews for various publications and blog about my caddy adventures.
