Hongtaek Kim cruised to six shot victory, to secure his maiden KPGA title, at the Caido Series Dynamic Busan Open. Not a bad way to pick up your first title!
Rounds of 68, 65, 70 and a final day 67 gifted Kim a very comfortable path throughout Sundays play. He never looked like being seriously challenged for the title.
It was very much a surprise win for Kim, who had failed to record any top ten finishes this season and during the few other KPGA events he played over the past five years.
The 24 year old did win on the Golfzon G-Tour in May- which is a professional screen golf league based in Daejeon, but this is undoubtedly a much more illustrious title.
Kim will now receive full playing rights on the KPGA Tour for the next few years, meaning his screen golf career will have to take a back seat to ‘real golf’…
Kim becomes the sixth different winner of the first six Caido Series events. The trophy remains the same though…
First up, I suppose I better say hello and thank you for visiting my website, whoever you are. I teach, I write, I caddy, I write, I travel, I write. Mostly, about golf if that interests you. Usually interviews for various publications and blog about my caddy adventures.
