Incredible IK Kim Claims Womens British Open Win

I.K. Kim made it back to back wins, after a somewhat dominant performance at the Ricoh Women’s British Open. Kim eventually clinched a two shot victory, on her way to matching Karen Stupples scoring record, and the first Major title of her career. Add in the fact that this is Kims third title this year, and fifth in the past eleven months and you have to agree that Kim is now a step above everyone else.

Pint sized Kim looked very comfortable throughout the final day, which she had begun with a six shot lead. She was certainly not in complete control, as the inconsistency of Michelle Wie was once again evident when she started raking up the birdies, but still was only able to get within four of Kim, ending five back.

English woman Jodi Shadoff provided the main challenge for Kim, sitting in the clubhouse two shots back, while Kim still had four holes to play. Cool headed Kim parred home to keep the deficit at two.

After winning the LPGA Marathon Classic in her previous start two weeks ago, Kims game is in the best shape of her career, and if she can maintain this, she must be thinking about challenging for the coveted number one position.

Kim set the scene for the day with an incredible tee shot on the par 3 first, firing straight at the pin and setting up a tap in birdie. She never looked back as a string of pars along with two more birdies and one bogey clinched the biggest victory of her career for Kim.

So where does Kim go from here? Judging by her form, onwards and upwards. The rest of the female golfing world better start to take note, invincible I.K. is going to be a serious contender at all the upcoming tournaments. As well as Kim going back to back, that’s four LPGA Tour wins in a row for Korea, and twelve out of twenty one tournaments so far this season – #domiNATION
