After missing the past three tournaments in Japan, Order of Merit leader Ha Neul Kim returns to action this week, at the JLPGA Daito Kentaku Ladies Tournament.
Kim has been enjoying her best season since 2011, when she won three KLPGA Tour titles. She has matched that hawl already this year on the JLPGA Tour, and it’s only halfway through. Based on her current form, Kim will win again soon.
Last week’s runner up Chae Young Yoon was just one shot away from claiming her maiden JLPGA title. Yoon will certainly be heading into this week with some added confidence. Can she win her first pro title soon? Well, maybe…
Sun Ju Ahn finished T-3rd here last year and is already a winner this season. Ahn has a very impressive record of being a multiple winner every year, since she joined the JLPGA Tour in 2010. One more win will keep this record going.
Shinae Ahn will make another appearance in Japan, and has been producing some solid recent performances there, not finishing outside the top 20 in her last three starts. One feels that it won’t be too long before Ahn turns her back on the KLPGA in favour of Japan, with regular tournament invites being an option, if she fails to secure a full time card.
Keep an eye on Heekyung Bae this week. She has been very consistent of late, and finished T-3rd last week, producing the low round of the day on Sunday. She is not too far from claiming her first JLPGA victory. Maybe this week. Just saying…
