As the summer temperature continues to soar in Japan, the golfers continue to compete, as well as battle to stay cool. Today was no different with the heat rising to the mid 30s, making it for an extra tough challenge on the course.
For Chae Young Yoon, a second place finish is her best of the season, but it could easily have been her first JLPGA title. She was tied for the lead with just two holes left, but couldn’t match Lala Ania’s birdie on the 17th, who parred the last to take the title. Still a great week for Yoon, who has been in the news more for her looks than golf for most of her career. Yoon was the “face of the KLPGA” for six years running.
Finishing just behind Yoon, with the round of the day was the ever consistent Heekyung Bae. She has been living near the top of leaderboards throughout the season- one day soon, she will pick up a trophy, much better than her holiday voucher today!
Last year, a T-8th finish for Bo Mee Lee would have been regarded as routine- however she has struggled this season, and this finish could (only could…not will) give Lee the boost of confidence she needs to start putting in consistent strong performances, which will lead to more JLPGA titles. Finishing alongside Lee, was Lee- Nari Lee- who had led at one stage.
First up, I suppose I better say hello and thank you for visiting my website, whoever you are. I teach, I write, I caddy, I write, I travel, I write. Mostly, about golf if that interests you. Usually interviews for various publications and blog about my caddy adventures.
