KPGA: First Win Since 2013 For Kyungnam Kang

The long four year wait for a victory is finally over for Kyungnam Kang, who came out on top at the KPGA Caido Series Male Open with Black Cats.

Having picked up a hand injury on the 17th while putting, Kang was able to maintain his two shot lead, after openly roaring in pain once he hit his wayward tee shot on the 18th. Luck was on Kang’s side as his ball bounced back into play, from being out of bounds and ended up on the short grass.

Kang was able to par the 18th and claim a three shot victory over his playing partner Jaemin Hwang, who had held a one shot lead at the start of the day.

Kang’s previous win came at the 2013 Happiness Gwangju Bank Open, but he had been in good form leading up to this week, so the victory was not a huge surprise. Nice outfit Kyungnam!
