The KLPGA Tour continues its hectic schedule this week with a trip to Birchill CC for the Chojung Sparkling Water Yongpyong Resort Open. So whoever wins this week will have to be prepared to be soaked with sparkling water, as opposed to still- that’s a fine piece of irrelevant information right there!
Defending champion So Young Lee has not been in the best of form in recent weeks, although she has recorded two top 5’s this season. She will need to produce her best golf of 2017 to be in with a chance of a successful defence- a feat achieved last week by Ji Hyun Oh at the Hankyung Ladies Cup.
Current money list leader and three time winner this year Ji Hyun Kim will once again be a strong contender to add more silverware (or in this case glassware!) to a very impressive season haul.
Last week’s winner Ji Hyun Oh will play alongside Kim for the opening two days and with a fourth place prior to her win, Oh’s current form is arguably the best on Tour.
Young Korean amateur Hye Jin Choi will be given the chance to impress once again at a professional tournament. Choi, who is destined to turn pro later this summer, looks to be the next big thing to come through the extremely successful golf industry here.
2015 champion Jin Young Ko continues to be sidelined due to injury, but is expected to return soon, possibly next week in China.
First up, I suppose I better say hello and thank you for visiting my website, whoever you are. I teach, I write, I caddy, I write, I travel, I write. Mostly, about golf if that interests you. Usually interviews for various publications and blog about my caddy adventures.
