KLPGA: Ko Looking For One Better Than Last Year

Can Jin Young Ko finally kickstart her 2017 season this week at the KLPGA S-OIL Championship?

It’s week two on Jeju Island for the KLPGA Tour and as the weather continues to warm up, so does the competition amongst the ladies

There’s already been nine different winners from the opening nine full KLPGA events this year. Nobody has yet to stand out from the pack and take control of the Tour, the way in which Sung Hyun Park did last year.

One feels that Jin Young Ko is close to stepping her season up a gear in the near future. Ko has had a steady start to 2017, but victories are what she is looking for, and this week sees another opportunity to break her 2017 duck. She finished runner up here last year, so clearly enjoys this course. One better this year and Ko could move into first gear for the summer ahead.

Ji Young Park cruised to a four shot victory last year with rounds of 66, 67, 66. She has three 9th place finishes this season, but also has three missed cuts, so who knows which Park will turn up this week. Probably the better one…either way expect a birdie fest on Jeju Island.
