After joining the KLPGA in 2009, Ji Hyun Kim hardly imagined it would take eight years to claim her first victory. This would have made her fifteen foot birdie putt on the last taste even sweeter, as Kim produced the best golf of her career over the weekend, to claim the Edaily Ladies Open, by one shot.
On Saturday, Kim shot an incredible 62, which included 11 birdies and only one bogey, on the par 5 ninth- her last of the day.
Kim’s main challengers came from the groups ahead, as both Jeong Eun Lee 5 and 6 shot to the top of the leaderboard on -14 and waited anxiously beside the 18th green, in hope of a three way playoff.
It was not to be, as Kim rolled in her birdie and looked around in disbelief that she had finally won; one of the most popular victories on the KLPGA Tour in recent years. Congrats again Ji Hyun 👏👏
