Last October, Mi Jeong Jeon created history by winning her 24th JLPGA title, the most ever won by a Korea. Today, Jeon added another title to her list, by beating Riho Fujisaki in a playoff at the Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup.
From 2013-2016, Jeon battled against an injury to her right hand, amongst other things, but she is now getting back to her best, notching up three JLPGA victories since July last year.
Soo Yun Kang and Ha Neul Kim finished one shot behind Jeon, in T-3rd, which they will both undoubtedly be very pleased with. Although Kim may feel a little aggrieved to miss out on the victory, she will have no real complaints about her week and the same goes for Kang.
A superb 67 by last week’s winner Sun Ju Ahn, elevated her up to T-9th, continuing her impressive recent run of form. That’s back to back Korean wins on the JLPGA, in addition to a current run of three in a row on the LPGA Tour. Not a bad start to 2017 for the Korean ladies!
