Strategic Golf Required for Lee in India

Soomin Lee has started to show some consistent form recently and this week’s Indian Open seems to be an ideal opportunity for him to get back into contention over the weekend.

The DFL golf course is in immaculate condition and it’s only a matter of time before Lee puts in a strong performance again. With the course demanding a lot of strategic shots from the tee box and fairways, Lee should relish this challenge. The greens are also very undulated, which is further proof that approach shots to the green are key this week. Lee’s iron play has been very strong recently, it’s just the flat stick that has been halting his progress of late.

The 23 year has been slipping down the world rankings over the past year, but two top 30 finishes in his last three starts on the European Tour, are optimistic signs that he is beginning to steady the ship again.

Although this week’s field is quite a strong mix of European Tour and Asian Tour regulars, Lee definitely has the potential to challenge, IF he can have a solid week on the greens. Our bold prediction is that he will win again in the next 6 weeks, and maybe this is the time. Check back here on Sunday if he does!
