This week the Asian and Japan Tours combine forces again, to host the Myanmar Open, in the beautiful Pun Hlaing golf club, situated just outside Yangon.
In a field similar to last week’s co-sanctioned event in Singapore, hopes of a Korean victory are high. With in-form Younghan Song desperate for his second professional victory, he will once again be expected to be in the mix on Sunday afternoon. His next win is coming soon and this could just be his week. K.T Kim’s form has been a tad inconsistent in recent times, but there’s no doubting that he will be in the winning circle again this year, and likely to be more than once.Other winners in 2016 playing this week include Junwon Park, Mingyu Cho, Byungmin Cho, Sanghee Lee and Junggon Hwang. Kyungnam Kang, who was leading the Singapore Open after round one will also be hoping to continue his current form.
The course itself is in near perfect condition and apart from a few tight driving holes, a low score is out there. Whatever the outcome, Myanmar will remain one of the more memorable locations on Tour this year. Good luck to all.
First up, I suppose I better say hello and thank you for visiting my website, whoever you are. I teach, I write, I caddy, I write, I travel, I write. Mostly, about golf if that interests you. Usually interviews for various publications and blog about my caddy adventures.
